What goes into this custard and biscuit recipe

Custard; I use the popular vanilla custard and it’s best to keep the custard chilled if you want to serve the dessert immediately.

Biscuits; Any of your favourite biscuits will do but for me, it was a coconut affair and I use plain and mint choc flavoured coconut biscuits.

Margarine/butter; Margarine is easily accessible and works to bind the biscuits but it’s really optional, I’ve made this without the margarine, and still turned out great.

Chocolates; This can either be grated or chopped chocolate or some chocolate truffles.

How to make this custard and biscuit dessert

Crush the biscuits, (I transfer the biscuits into a bowl and slowly crush them with a mug). Leave a few biscuits for garnishing( i only saved some mint-choc ones). Melt the butter/margarine and cut the strawberries, set aside. Add the melted butter/margarine to both the crushed biscuits and mix well.

Start layering, first with the plain coconut biscuits about 50 grammes in each of the glasses. You will use up all the plain coconut biscuits for the first layer.

Carefully pour about 1/2 cup or 125ml of custard in each of the glasses.

Top with crushed mint-choc biscuits also about 50 grammes in each glass. You will also use up all the biscuits.

For the last layer, carefully pour the same amount of custard as the last custard layer. Garnish with some strawberries, biscuits and choc pieces or roughly grated chocolate and serve. If you are not serving immediately then only garnish when you are about to serve. This will last for about 3 days in the fridge without strawberries.
